Adult Students in Scholastic Transition
(ASIST) Program

ASIST aids adults who are at transitional points in their lives and who wish to continue their educations.  EWI awards $2000 scholarships to twelve individuals at the Corporate level.  Scholarships are also awarded at the Chapter level after a thorough and competitive application process.

The ASIST program was adopted in 1994 as a corporate program, and it is designed to provide financial assistance to adult students in transitional situations who are struggling to achieve academic goals.  The Scholarship Committee works with Georgia Perimeter College (GPC) to solicit applicants.  After applications are received and screened for meeting the criteria, they are forwarded to the Scholarship Committee who conducts personal interviews of the applicants, determines a final rating for each of the applicants, and six students are selected for scholarships.  Awards are presented at an EWI Scholarship Award dinner.  GPC is then responsible for monitoring the student and allocating the funds.

The ASSIST program was established to provide financial support to adult students returning back to school.  At this time, EWI Atlanta Chapter awards scholarships for tuition and books only to students attending Georgia Perimeter College.  The applicants must meet the following criteria.  They are attending Georgia Perimeter College, must be a U.S. Citizen, must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and enrolled in 9 hours or more in college level courses.

If you should select Georgia Perimeter College, you would work with their scholarship office directly about your interest in receiving EWI''s scholarship.

The Chapter funds the ASIST program through various fundraising efforts of the members and from the contributions received from member firms and outside organizations.
